The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia occupies almost 80% of the Arabian Peninsula which measures to about 865,000 square miles .It is considered one of the largest Arabian countries and comes in order after Egypt and Libya. It is also the world's first producer of crude oil and has underneath its surface approximately 17% of the world's total ensured oil reserves.Saudi Arabia is getting closer to celebrating its Eighty-Second National Day which will occur on September 23^rd. This date has been celebrated since the late King Abdul-Aziz managed to restore control in most of the current Saudi Arabian territory .He managed to do that by winning the war against Sharif Hasan, then making a treaty with Great Britain in Jeddah in 1927 and dissolved the old one (Dareen treaty dated 1915).                     

After ages of being named as "The Kingdom of Najed and Alhijaz ", King Abdul-Aziz decided to rename it as "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia". Afterwards, The King issued a decision in 1932 that officially announced the unification of the kingdom.The Kingdom celebrates its implementation every year to commemorate the epical unification and achievement of the kingdom .Saudi people celebrate their national day with events and activities distributed throughout not only every city in the country but also in other countries. The most special one happens in the Kingdom's capital Riyadh when preparations begin days before the event.First, Several sites in the city are designated by Alriyadh Municipality for the celebration to take place and be approved by the mayor himself; nowadays this position is occupied by" Eng. Abdullah bin Abdurrahman bin Mohammed Al Meqbel" .According to the customs and traditions of this country which are connected to the rules and regulations of the Islamic religion, those sites are devided into family and singles sections so that everyone can enjoy this glorious day .There are numerous events and activities which will happen on that day including various recreational, social, and cultural activities for all members of the society. There are also special discounts for specific hotel reservations, malls, and shopping centers.
 Finally, there is Fireworks show at night. If you manage to get yourself experience this event, then you can see the pride and affection the Saudi people have for their nationality.One other thing everyone should remember about this day, is that without the blessings of the unification that was done by their late King, none of the accomplishments and evolution to their civilization would have happened, starting from the infrastructure to education and other aspects of life.In the end, one should keep in mind that this ceremony takes into account the principles of saving the identity, values of the Saudi nationality and the growing affections to this great nation in Saudi's young hearts while keeping this day associated with its history.
